Making an Icon
The Tournament
Rogers Cup is the oldest tennis tournament in Canada. Split between two cities, Toronto and Montreal, Rogers Cup is one of the top five tournaments in North America. Each year they alternate the location for the men's and women’s tournaments and average a total of 140,000 attendees per year.
Making the Trophy
In preparation for the celebration of Canada’s 150th year, Tennis Canada partnered with Cambria to make a new iconic trophy. In collaboration with Toronto-based Interior Design company Yabu Pushelberg, Cambria created a legendary trophy that is the perfect pairing to the historic tournament.
Working closely with copywriters, producers, and an outside video vendor to capture the process as it was being made, we created assets across multiple channels.
On Air
In addition to the behind-the-scenes video, we created two commercials that aired on TSN during the tournament. One commercial showcased the theme of the tournament, “this is your tournament, this is your trophy” focusing on bringing ownership to all of Canada. The second commercial was focused on telling Cambria’s story and the intricate process of making the trophy.
Around the Stadium
From the booth to the pillar wraps, we created assets that would tie together the overall campaign as well as Canada’s history. Key assets included an in-booth trophy display, a custom cocktail table giveaway, and tennis legends meet and greets. Pillar wraps featured the trophy being hoisted in front of iconic locations around Toronto.
